Living Food Versus Toxic and Dead Foods
This I consider to be basic and mandatory knowledge if you want to get out of your compulsive eating.
What are Toxic Foods?
Foods (hard to even call them food!) containing toxic substances resulting of high temperature cooking, processing or preservation. They contain ingredients that disrupt the metabolism like monosodium glutamate, yeast extract, hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated oils, artificial colors, sodium nitrate, refined sugars, white flour and loads of sodium.
White flour is NOT natural because it is made from wheat. All the nutrients have been riped off during the bleaching process, all the minerals and vitamins are gone. It contains alloxan, a contaminant resulting from the bleaching. This is not listed on the label of course but it is known to promote type 2 diabetes. Whole wheat bread sold at any food supermarket in clear plastic bags is white flour mixed with a bit of bran. That's it. Same thing with brown sugar, it's white sugar with a bit of molasses added to it. Nothing natural there.
Processed meats contain sodium nitrite and nitrate, ingredients known to cause cancer. But they make the meat look red. Packaged soups full of salt that makes you eat more and want more of it. Most packaged foods contain MSG but it is not listed as MSG because this is forbidden now. But the food industry came up with new names for it : yeast extract, autolyzed vegetable protein, hydrolyzed vegetable protein (whatever that means !). So what are these MSGs? They are excitotoxins, which means they overexcite the nerves in your body. They pass through the blood/brain barrier and kills brain cells. This is based on studies by Dr. Russell Blalock, author of several books on the subject. A very interesting experiment was conducted with rats fed with high doses of MSG. The rats could no longer control their appetite, they overate and became obese. MSG is used as a "flavor enhancing" and is found in most snack chips, potato chips, nachos, sauce mixes, canned soups, salad dressings. They disrupt normal appetite signals because they interfere with normal endocrine system balance.
Everything cooked at high temperatures, potato chips and other fried snack chips, contain acrylomides and other chemicals unlisted on labels. All these chemicals are unknown to the body and are toxic.
Brand names use hydrogenated oils to make peanut butter looks all creamy so there is no separation between the oil and the peanut butter. You recognize real and true raw peanut butter when the oil is on top and the butter on the bottom. The problem is that hydrogenated fats are foreign to the human body. They induce all kinds of problems. They cause allergies. Same thing with milk. More and more people can't digest milk proteins and they get constipation, asthma and acne from dairy products. If you suffer from any of these, stop dairies for a while and see what happens.
Have you noticed that most ads are about these toxic foods? "all-ready" foods. Nothing needs to be done or prepared. Open the box and maybe warm it for a few minutes in the microwave oven. They are the most expensive foods when you compare their price to the amount of nutrients in them which is near 0%. So what happens is that you have to eat a lot more to get something into the tank. You can eat and eat hundreds of calories, you'll never get anything else than empty calories, fat on your bellies, an uncontrolled appetite and health problems.
These are the foods disrupting the nervous system, promoting cancer, heart disease and even depression. Then what do people do ? They go to the doctor who gives them drugs and anti-depressants.
What are Dead Foods?
Anything that has been cooked, including cans and packaged foods, are dead. When cooked, most nutrients are destroyed, vitamins are gone because destroyed at high temperatures and if boiled, all minerals are gone as well (part of the minerals will stay if the food is only steamed). Phytonutrients or pigments (natural antioxydants) provided by nature to fight disease as well as proteins are also destroyed by high temperatures. 100% of all enzymes are destroyed as well, forcing the body to use its own reserve of enzymes therefore accelerating the aging process. Please visit the Understanding Enzymes page to learn more about enzymes.
It also seems that cooked foods stimulate cravings for food because the organs are not getting the nutrients they would normally get in raw food. The body will then crave those nutrients which may induce a total loss of control of appetite and a lack of willpower.
What are Living Foods?
These are the true health foods. The health foods are only produced by Mother Nature: nuts, seeds, whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables. They are living because containing enzymes, the energy of life and the energy of the Sun. They haven't been processed in any way.
Not French fries nor Diet Coke.
What is the difference between Living Foods and Raw Foods?
In living foods, the enzymes' content is higher. Raw, unsprouted grains and nuts contain enzymes in a dormant state. Once soaked, the enzymatic process starts and the life force is activated.
Please visit the Soaking and Sprouting page to learn more about this.
When living and raw, the life force and energy of the food is preserved so we can benefit from it directly into our body.
If you eat foods classified as toxic or dead, start by adding more
living and raw foods to your daily diet.
Soon you will feel more energy and you will naturally want more.
